Matt Shelding

I write color illustrated fantasy short story collections for adults that are comic-book-esque in nature and hopefully spread some smiles around.I don't strictly write within the boundaries of cozy literature, but I do attempt to stay in cozy's neighborhood. My first paperback is available now, Prettiest Girl in the Morgue. It's a collection of short stories, flash fiction and a novelette featuring a cast of my quirky vampires. Look for Vampire Follies to be released soon.Later this year, watch for my story collections featuring ghosts, funny weird stuff from sci fi land, and a Halloween collection in time for spooky season.

Prettiest Girl in the Morgue

It was just a regular neighborhood until it became a hotbed of vampire activity.

Screams are being heard through apartment walls. Neighbors are disappearing.People are telling stories of being abducted and getting away.A guy was found dead, completely sucked dry.One lady says a vampire has been coming to bingo at the church. No one can figure out if it's zombies or vampires running around the cemetery at night. And nobody wants to go there in the dark to find out.The owner of the antique store claims it's real vampire blood on that old hatpin. The morgue is doing a banging business.Best to stay in.

Coming Soon

Vampire Follies

The vampire activity in our area continues unabated. Worse, it seems to be spreading. The national news is reporting vampire problems in other states. There are rumors that some folks are actually seeking out the bloodsuckers in the hopes of joining their ranks. Others are hiding in terror. The price of garlic has skyrocketed, and it has become almost impossible to obtain. It's chaos.
